How will US Senate candidate Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) explain to the state’s 25+% Catholic voters why he endorsed the Westminster Confession, which declares the Pope to be the antichrist?

Perhaps those voters would be better off with the Tax Wall Street Party’s Dan Buhurdorf, who champions the New Deal economic reforms in which genuine family values can take root.

Remembering Anarchists In Ferguson

"The anarchist street agitator aggressively misinterprets riot as revolt. Using news reports, Twitter streams, and anarchist podcasts and websites, I’ve compiled an account to clarify the anarchist presence in Ferguson. Whatever Ferguson’s role in the national outcry for better police training and policy, #Ferguson now also serves as an anarchist hashtag, used to propagate anarchist phrases and nurture delusions of mass insurrection.

Twitter was also full of anti-anarchist furor. By Tuesday, black Twitter in particular was lashing out at ‘white anarchists’ infiltrating local vigils and marches. Some of the earliest angry tweets came from Tef Poe, a St. Louis rapper on the scene.”

Austerity and war have the same goals: the empowerment of the few at the expense of the many. The United Front Against Austerity opposes all war – whether the US-sponsored bombs and bullets destroying the Middle East and Africa, or the economic war Wall Street wages on the American people.

Former Ohio Congressman James Traficant dies

R.I.P. former Ohio congressman Jim Traficant

Traficant was controversial, gutsy and eccentric. But behind what little coverage you’ll find is a working class hero who stood up unfailingly for steelworkers, homeowners, American industry – and perhaps more critically, against the abuses of the IRS, US Justice Department and the State of Israel. It was by his reckoning these latter “crimes” that landed him in federal prison for 7 years on flimsy charges including coercing staff members to work on his farm.

Every time you’re tempted to look down your nose at a Jim Traficant, Rod Blagojevich or Charles Rangel, remind yourself that Dick Cheney, Henry Kissinger, John McCain and Lindsey Graham walk the earth as free men.

Here Traficant tells it like he saw it in 2011:

"[Israel] controls both [chambers] of the House, they have us involved in wars in which we have little or no interest, our children are coming back in body bags, our nation is bankrupt over these wars, and if you open your mouth you get targeted. And if they don’t beat you at the poll, they’ll put you in prison."

Wall Street scared new Attorney General could be Preet

"Attorney General Eric Holder is heading to the exit door — and that’s making Wall Street nervous.

Executives in the financial services industry see Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara as a possible successor — and with his tough-on-corporate-crime history, believe a renewed focus on Wall Street could be coming to Washington.”

GOP Senator Apologizes for McCain Tantrum at Syrian Christian Leader Meeting - Judicial Watch

Senate candidate Dan Buhrdorf is addressing the current “war psychosis” on his Facebook page.
“If elected, (GOP Senate candidate) Ben Sasse will be caucusing with John McCain. Will Mr. Sasse be able to tell the current GOP leader to cool it with the war psychosis?
It’s time for all candidates, especially the GOP candidate, to distance themselves from this bad policy.
Please see my statement at .”

Randy Credico’s arrest is doubly ironic in light of New York’s own Police Department Patrol Guide, which states that “taking photographs, videotapes or tape recordings” are not cause for arrest or detention so long as the activity does not jeopardize the safety of officers or others.

According to the New York Times, federal rulings in Baltimore, Boston and Indianapolis affirm that recording officers in public places is protected by the Constitution. But there has been no court decision recognizing that right in New York. However, there is a federal lawsuit currently filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan that seeks a permanent injunction barring New York City employees (including police) from retaliating against those who record them in public.

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." - Article III, Section 3, US Constiution

As the U.S. intensifies its attacks on both Iraq and Syria, we must mobilize in outrage against these endless wars for profit! The U.S. is using ISIS as a pretext to expand their imperialist wars, domination, and exploitation in Iraq and Syria, along with the entire region.

For the anti-war movement in the United States, it is a time to remove any doubts about who is who in the war going on in Syria. The worldwide forces of oppression — U.S., NATO and Israel — are all lined up against the Syrian government.

The International Action Center joins the Syrian American Forum, along with many other anti-war groups to demand an end to these dangerous war escalations by the U.S.

Obama will be addressing the UN on Weds., Sept. 24th and we will be there demanding the U.S. stop endless war and occupation in Iraq and Syria, and around the globe.

We will be assembling outside the UN at 47th and 1st from 12pm-2pm to protest. There will be a speak-out beginning at 1.

We urge national actions against this newest war drive by the U.S.

100 Zephyrs: Why the Left Must Challenge Corporate Democrats

"Unlike Tea Partiers, polls show that Democratic/left ‘purists’ hold views which are extremely popular with voters. For example: Likely voters want to expand Social Security, and they want to raise taxes on millionaires to pay for it. What’s more, they hold that position in overwhelming numbers - numbers which include 90 percent of Democrats and 73 percent of Republicans.

As a quick review of shows, voters also strongly prefer the ‘progressive’ position on a wide range of economic issues which includes job creation, infrastructure repair, the minimum wage, corporate taxation, student debt, bank regulation (and banker prosecution), raising taxes on the wealthy, and reducing the role of money in government itself.”
